This Privacy Policy describes how HideThisPC (“we,” “us,” or “the site”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit hidethispc.com.
We take privacy seriously — it’s the entire subject of this site. We collect as little information as possible, and we tell you exactly what we collect and why.
What we collect
Information you provide directly
The only way to share information with this site directly is by emailing us at hello@hidethispc.com. When you email, we receive whatever you choose to send — typically your email address and message content. We use that information only to respond to you.
We do not currently operate a newsletter or any signup forms. If we add one in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect what email data we collect and how it’s stored.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Hostinger) and content delivery infrastructure log basic technical information including:
- Your IP address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on them
- Referring website (where you came from)
This information is collected via standard server logs and retained per our hosting provider’s policies. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors.
Analytics
We are not currently running any third-party analytics on this site. If we add analytics in the future (e.g., Google Analytics, Plausible, or similar), this policy will be updated to reflect what data is collected, how it’s stored, and how you can opt out.
Cookies
We do not currently set any first-party tracking cookies. WordPress (the platform this site runs on) may set technical cookies for login or comment systems — but comments are disabled site-wide, so this should not apply to typical visitors.
If you click an affiliate link to a partner site (see Affiliate Disclosure below), that partner site may set cookies as part of their tracking. We have no control over those cookies. You can clear them at any time via your browser settings.
How we use information
We use any information we collect for the following purposes only:
- Responding to email inquiries
- Maintaining and improving the site
- Detecting and preventing abuse (spam, attacks, etc.)
- Complying with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not maintain marketing lists.
Third-party services
This site uses the following third-party services, which may collect information independently:
- Hostinger (hosting provider) — sees server-level data including IP addresses and traffic
- Google Search Console — receives aggregate search data about how the site appears in Google search results. Does not receive individual visitor identification.
- Affiliate networks (Impact Radius, Proton Partners, and others) — when you click an affiliate link and visit a partner’s site, the partner and the affiliate network may track that referral on their side. See our Affiliate Disclosure for full details.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them if you have concerns.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you sign up for a product or service through them. The commission does not affect your price, and it does not affect our editorial recommendations.
When you click an affiliate link, the partner site (or an affiliate network like Impact Radius) may track the referral via cookies or URL parameters. We do not receive any personal information from this tracking — only an aggregate notification that a referral resulted in a signup.

Data retention
We retain email correspondence as long as it remains operationally useful (typically no more than 24 months), unless you request deletion sooner.
Server logs are retained according to our hosting provider’s policies.
Security
We use reasonable security measures to protect information, including:
- HTTPS encryption for all site traffic
- Regular software and plugin updates
- Strong access controls on administrative accounts
- Two-factor authentication on critical accounts
No method of internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we treat protection of personal information seriously.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in jurisdictions where that’s the relevant age). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
